Keep Calm and Ride On

I saw this image at Urban Simplicity and given the weather today (18 degrees and snow!) I thought it was appropriate. I am going out later today on the bike. The snow does not bother me but I fear ice. So far, I don't see any ice so we'll see. I *am* going to buy a pair of hunting gloves though and wear my longjohns and SmartWool socks which are so very warm. Who else is cycling in the snow out there?

  1. I am. Yesterday I took off on my bike for the first time in two weeks and my nose HURT!!! Today I was smart enough to wear my fask mask! That makes a tremendous difference.

So far today I've only noticed one person blatantly laughing at the way I dress. I realize it looks silly but should'nt I be the one laughing at people who have no idea how to dress to stay warm?

  2. Next time post a picture of what you are wearing to give me ideas. I bought this red hoodie thing (as Westlake Hardware store last year) that covers my head, neck, and everything below my nose. It works pretty well. The fronts of my legs get cold but oh well.

You are RIGHT! You should be laughing at people wearing windbreakers in this weather--that kills me. ( I saw an undergrad wearing thin little sweatpants, light shoes and a windbreaker. That was it. Unbelievable).
